Nafzahizam, Elvinn To Shoulder Men's Squash Challenge At SEA Games

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- Nafzahizam Adnan and Elvinn Keo have been chosen to shoulder Malaysia's challenge in the men's category in squash at the 24th SEA Games in Korat, Thailand in December.

After three days of national selection trials from Thursday at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil here, the Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia (SRAM) picked the two juniors to represent Malaysia at the meet.

Apart from the duo, the others who underwent the trials were Choong Kam Hing, Kamran Khan, Valentino Bong, Asyraf Azan and Asfar Azan.

They will join Sharon Wee and Tricia Chuah who will represent Malaysia in the women's category.

"I am beyond excitement to be chosen. This is the first time I will be representing Malaysia at the SEA Games," Nafzahizam told Bernama.

Just as the previous SEA Games in Manila, the Korat Games will only have the men's and women's singles events for squash. Malaysia, being the regional powerhouse in squash, are expected to romp home easily in the event.
