By D. Arul Rajoo

BANGKOK, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysia settled for a sole bronze on the second day of the 24th SEA Games shooting competition here Wednesday.

The trio of Chen Seong Fook, Leong Wei Heng and Bernard Yeoh shot down 309 birds in the men's trap to finish third behind Singapore which claimed its first gold medal today through Lee Wung Yew, Amat Mohd Zain and Choo Choon Seng.

The Singaporeans scored 318 marks to edge silver medalist Philippines which posted 312.

It was double joy for the republic shooters as Amat also clinched the individual gold after gunning down 125 birds, but it only came after a countback as he was tied with eventual silver medalist Kitcharoen Atig of Thailand bronze medalist Lee.
