Elvinn topples Nafzahizam in the final

SECOND seed Elvinn Keo turned the tables on team-mate Nafzahizam Adnan to win the men's squash gold medal at the Ratchapphruek Club in Bangkok yesterday.

It was a blow for the 22-year-old Nafzahizam, who had wanted to keep the gold medal in the family following the success of his younger brother, Nafiizwan, at the last Games in Manila.

Elvinn did not have it easy against the top seed and slogged to carve out a 10-8, 4-9, 9-4, 5-9, 9-4 in 90 minutes.

Nafzahizam is ranked 120th in the world while the 19-year-old Elvinn is at number 155. Both of them were playing in their first SEA Games.
